I love it when I make something I am really, really pleased with
and I am really pleased with this! I so wish that I had another size 2 t-shirt (and a few spare hours) so that I could make one for Rohan. He is going to love it and alas it is not going to fit him. Hopefully someone else will see fit to buy it and let there little man wear it with pride because I would hate to see it sit on the shelf here.
On a sadder note, school starts back this week and my sewing time is going to be cut dramatically. I hope to get some items made of a Friday and on the weekends but I fear there is not going to be production like there has been in the last month. If regular readers of the blog are after particular items please feel free to email me and I will try to look after you.

Kiddy's t-shirts!
After getting a custom roll finished I set about doing something I have wanted to do for a while now. I showed you Rohan's bus t-shirt a while back, well I have done more for him and some for the store!
Here is Rohan in his gorgeous car t-shirt! I liked this one so much that I made another nearly (but not quite) the same as well as another bus (again nearly the same as Rohan's but not quite) and a hot air balloon for something a little less "blokey".

The perils of modern technology.
Ah the wonders of the modern age. On the one hand I am sitting on my bedroom floor typing, away from the noise and drama of the house because I finally installed a wireless network in the house. Now that rocks! Internet wherever I want it.
On the other hand, I have finished a knitting bag that I am VERY pleased with and I so want to show everyone and the batteries on the camera have gone flat and do you think I can find the other set? Anyway, once the batteries have charged sufficiently there will be a shiny new knitting bag to be seen here and on Ozebaby and I also have photos of my new sewing area (woooooo hooooo).
A little hint about the bag.....here

Gotta love the rain!
Not only did it ensure that cricket was cancelled today but it is damn good just because! Seeing as cricket was cancelled we decided that we might head to Ikea in Richmond to have a look about. The kids love it, the food is cheap at the cafe and we always seem to find a thing of two we "need".
I had intended to spend the day sewing (a knitting bag for anyone who's interested) but "oh well". I am so glad I didn't though because I found the best fabric to line the bag I was intending to make. I predict it will be absolutely schmick!
I also bought this desk to put in the study as a sewing table. Oh the luxury......an ACTUAL sewing table! I feel so decadent.

Ready for school (I think)
I finished Duncan's art smock this morning so apart from a little shopping I think he is all ready to start school! Isn't he a cutie?
I had no great plans to make any of these to sell, but if anyone wants one please feel free to contact me and we will see what we can do.
Duncan insists on both pictures of him being up!

My first attempt at a knitting bag.
And I am fairly happy with it. I think that it has just the right amount of storage areas and the matching zippered pouch works well. I realise now that I need to use much stiffer interfacing in future versions as this one doesn't stand up well enough on it's own for my liking. Having said that, it stands up pretty well when full of stuff. Anyway here it is.....
If you like it , it is available in store at a special price with the option of a matching needle roll.

Another little something for my baby.

I might be able to sew, but I certainly can't draw.
Rohan wanted me to do some drawing with him this morning. He was quite adamant that the page needed to be covered with cars and trucks and such in all manner of colours. I have trouble with stick figures so as you can see me effort was decidedly subpar.
The one thing I did get out of my poor drawing was the red bus in the top right hand corner. I looked at that and thought how cute it would look as an applique.
Off to my fabric stash, grab some viseoflex (is that how you spell it) and viola! A quicky applique bus t-shirt for my Rohan. He seems quite happy with it. It will need over stitching at some point, but I don't like my chances of getting it off him today.

The peace is about to be shattered!
Nothing crafty to add today. The older two come home from their holiday today and life will return to normal. It has been lovely having some time with just Rohan. Being the third he gets so little one on one time. I think he has quite liked being the only child. The last time I had just a two year old at home I was also pregnant with the next. Not quite as relaxing.
Anyway here is a photo of my beautiful baby.....

At last something for us.
With Duncan starting school this year I thought it was well past time that I started making the things that he will need. We picked this Batman fabric for his library bag an age ago and I finally found it again after a long period of "lostness". I hope he likes it when he gets home tomorrow. Next I will have to make his art smock. Yes I know I could just go and buy one but it is so much nicer to have one that no one else has.
After I finished Duncan's I decided to whip a few up for the store.

With my two oldest kids heading off for a holiday with Grandma and Pa it seemed like an excellent opportunity to clean out my fabric cupboard before my friend Sam popped around with her three. Well I kind of got it done. At least the top shelf is sorted but the rest is still on the stairs as you can see.
Anyway my plans went astray when Sam arrived with a snap press (thanks Tania). I couldn't have that sucker in the house without trying it out hence the four bib sets that are now in the store. Now I best go and clear those stairs.

The latest creation.
After reading about the circular collections of some of the lovely ladies at Woolaholics, I decided that for some people a 10 circ needle roll is just not enough. That in mind, I have been formulating in my mind the 24 circ roll for a few days now. This is the prototype and I am pretty happy with the design. It is available for sale in the shop at a special reduced price simply because it is the first off the line and there may be some small imperfections. None of which would make it less beautiful or less functional though!

The Cat's Meow !
I love the set that I just made, and I love the most this little guy! As the fabric had cats all over it, it seemed silly to not do a taggy kitty.
I also recieved a lovely email from a customer
"they arrived today & are more beautiful than I imagined. How quick was Aust. Post!"
It was lovely to receive some positive feedback!
The full set is available in the store.

Flower Power.
My latest circ roll! I am particularly pleased with the ribbon and button embellishment. I also put together some more handbags today - one in pink and one in cherries. They are very cute (even if I do say so myself). All of these are now available at The Complete Fabrication.

The first circular roll for sale!
This one is for sale (or at least will be at 6pm). I hope Sam gets plenty of use out of the pink one. She seemed happy with it.

New product!
I have decided to add some knitting needle rolls to the stores inventory! These hold both straights and circulars although I have plans to try one that holds only circulars but more there of. Here are my first couple of rolls.
The orange and pink one I am particularly happy with. It is funky and practical and I am sure there is a knitter out there that will be particularly happy with it. The Chinese brocade one was an earlier version. It is still quite usable but not quite what I had in mind. I think I will sell it at a reduced price though as the fabric is just beautiful and it deserves to be used by someone.

My Mum is crafty too!
I thought I should show you all the cool as Captain Underpants that my Mum knit for my eldest son Bevan. He is the hugest Captain Underpants fan and he was just speechless when she gave it to him this morning. He has now requested a Captain Blunderpants for Duncan and a Diaper Dog for Rohan.
Mum used the pattern at Civil Bitch.
I really want to get some sewing done today but I have places to go and things to do. :( I wanted to try some knitting rolls in some funky fabrics. Don't be surprised if I do get around to it anyway.

After saying I wasn't going to sew much today...
Not much sewing today
I had every intention of spending some time today making a library bag for my middle son Duncan who starts school this year. Months ago we went to Spotlight and picked out some Batman fabric that he loved. Do you think I can find it now? I have searched high and low and still no sign of it. I am sure it will turn up about the time that I relent and purchase some more.
With the sewing bug still upon me I decided to take on board some of the feedback that I have received from the lovely ladies at Nappycino and use some of the pink and brown floral fabric that everyone loves and turn it into a little handbag. After all, not everyone uses nappies but we can all do with another handbag!
So here it is..

What a Day!
I am so glad I set up the lounge today because I was so productive! Besides the roll and bag I finished this morning, this afternoon I also got another bag and roll as well as a blanket set. Look at me go!
I made a slightly different style of bag with this one. Single handle, no squaring of the base. I like it. Simple and uncluttered.
A more girly blanket set with "Star" appliqued on the bib. Everything is reversible as usual.

New Year's Plans
I decided this morning that I would use New Year's Day to sew. I set up the lounge room as my own mini sweat shop and away I went. So far I have finished another nappy roll and tote set. I love this fabric. The very first set I made was in these colourings for my good friend Antoinette. The only problem is that her "one of a kind" creation is now not so "one of a kind". She can rest easy though, hers is still a little different to this one.
Like all my rolls this one is lined in lovely polar fleece. So soft to change baby on and just that bit water repellent. The other great thing is that the whole lot can just be thrown in the washing machine if the unthinkable happens and that nappy change goes all bad!
Now what shall I make this arvo? The sweat shop is still there so I should make something else. Hmmm..... I could do another blanket set or there is some of the brown and the pink fabric lying around that just might want to become little hand bags. I guess we'll see where the inspiration takes me after lunch.
